By Friday, the garland was up, the toddlers were wired, and my cortisol levels were... festive.
I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving!
My little butterball turned 3 that day, and we had a full-on celebration with turkey, cake, and Spiderman (because of course).
The very next day, we started the transition... down with the fall decor, up with Christmas. My husband built the base for the most amazing tree teepee. I’ll be posting pictures and videos on Instagram and TikTok over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out. The inspiration videos were magical, but the real thing is even dreamier than I imagined.
The only downside is... wrapping garland around that frame took forever. I’m dreading the takedown already... but that’s future me’s problem. For now, I’m soaking it in.
And still, I can feel the stress creeping in.
Bins and boxes are everywhere. The house looks like we got robbed. We haven’t even finished decorating the treepee, and December is just starting.
It’s that tug-of-war we feel every year... wanting to make everything magical, but realizing we’re the ones doing all the heavy lifting to create it.
It’s a reminder:
You don’t have to do it all to make it magical.
The memories that matter most are the ones you actually get to feel, not just orchestrate.
That’s exactly why I recorded this week’s podcast episode.
Because if you’re already feeling the pressure to make everything look magical while quietly losing your mind in the mess, you’re not alone.
In this episode, I’m sharing real, doable ways to slow down, breathe, and actually enjoy the season (yes, even if you’re hiding in the laundry room to get a minute to yourself).
And if you’re ready for more than just survival mode, I would like to offer you the Mom Identity Starter Kit, it’s a bundle of tools to help you reclaim time for you, even in the middle of all this chaos.
Here’s to a season that feels good for everyone in your house, including you.
