Planning ahead is my superpower. Ignoring that plan? That’s where the magic happened.
I had all of my podcast episodes for November recorded and uploaded in October. With mom life, I’ve learned to stay as ahead of the game as I possibly can.
But last week it hit me, I wanted to do something special for Thanksgiving. I wanted to create an episode that shares stories of mom-to-mom kindness.
So I went to Reddit and asked, “What’s a mom-to-mom act of kindness you’ll never forget?”
And wow… the people showed up.
They didn’t just send little one-liners, they sent full visual experiences.
As I was reading them I knew I needed a guest host, but who?
I immediately thought of Kaitlin Becker (who, if you missed it, was the guest for episodes 58 and 59) as the perfect person to talk about mom kindness with.
But immediately, my inner doubter showed up:
“She’s too busy… she’s too big for you… she already helped you... don’t ask too much.”
And I had to shut her down, because I KNOW that’s fear talking.
So I went for it… and she said YES.
It was SO much fun to record this episode for you. There were tears and laughter as we remembered some of our own stories and reflected on the ones the moms of the internet shared.
I hope you enjoy this episode, and I’m truly so grateful you’re here on this journey with me.
If you’ve ever had a stranger step in at just the right moment, or wished you could say thank you to a mom who saved your day, this one’s for you.
Kaitlin and I sat down to share some of the most touching mom-to-mom kindness stories I’ve ever read (and lived). Get your tissues and press play:
